इमे हि भ्रातरः श्रान्तास्तव तात पिपासिताः ॥ ६ ॥
वैशम्पायनः कथां वदति । परीक्षित् शृणोति । युधिष्ठिरः नकुलं वदति हे माद्रेय। वृक्षम् आरोह । सर्वत्र पश्य । जलं कुत्रापि अस्ति वा । वृक्षाः सन्ति वा इति (पश्य) । तव भ्रातरः श्रान्ताः सन्ति । जलम् इच्छन्ति । इति (वदति) ।

Yudhiṣṭhira is oldest among the five brothers. “Nakula, can you climb this tree and see if there is water anywhere?”, he says to the older of his two step-brothers.
Nakula climbs the tree. He takes a look. “Over there I see many trees. I see plenty of plants. I also hear the cry of herons. There is sure to be water in that direction”, he says.
